No action can be taken on an item not on the agenda at this time, but may be referred to the administration or put on a future agenda. In accordance with Board Bylaw 9323, individual remarks will be limited to 3 minutes each, unless otherwise stipulated.

A. Decision on the Charter Petition for STEM Academy of Silicon Valley
(overview) The Santa Clara County Office of Education, Office of Innovative Schools (OIS) received a charter petition from STEM Academy of Silicon Valley on February 2, 2015. This petition was submitted on appeal from Santa Clara Unified School District, having been denied by the District's Board of Education on January 22, 2015. A public hearing was held on January 14, 2015. The Board must "either grant or deny the charter within 60 days of receipt of the petition." (Ed. Code, §47600, et seq.) Staff has provided the Board with an assessment of the sufficiency of the charter petition with respect to all criteria for approval. Staff recommends that the Board review staff's analysis with respect to these criteria and make a finding regarding whether each criterion for approval has been satisfied. (Toni Cordova)
